I was wondering if anyone can help, I’m comparing 3 sites that I’ve been submitting (to free places), two are doing really well but one isn’t and I can’t figure out why, they get submitted roughly the same time, to the same places and the keywords are relevant.

How important is Content Relevancy, linking Internaly & Externaly, tags? Are yahoo, google, walhello and dmoz the only places worth submitting too? How about ones like ineedhits.com How important are image, page and folder naming too?

Thanks for any help :o)

When you say submitted, are you talking about submitting to 1000 search engines....or something like that? If so, this is not necessary at all. Once they find you, that is all they need.

In terms of linking, content, relevancy, these are highly important. Starting with your title tags, make sure they are all targetting the keywords you want. Then begin obtaining back links. Preferably with an anchor text as your main search term.

Overall, the big boy search engines are the main ones to be submitted too, from there all the little guys will usually follow.

Keep building content, and start obtaining backlinks and watch your ranks climb. Just be sure to keep your backlinks relevant. The less related, the more watered down they are. In my opinion, only link if it is a benefit to your viewers or the linking sites...not just for another backlink.
Hope that helps
