Checking out some small SE's, i have noticed UKWIZZ layout, style, logo, results have all been updated, i think its kind of novel and definitely worth a look for uk visitors. Would like to hear of whether this one has a chance to progress in the UK market?

I would say it has, the owner is a well known member here and I know that he works on it daily!
I am looking forward to it hopefully getting a little more UK coverage, after it becomes a little more UK specific.

What you think of the design and colours used, i think its not to bad at the moment. What can be fixed to bring it from ok to great?

Relevancy, if it proclaims to being a UK specific search engine then if I search for "Ford" or "Ford dealership", I would hope I would get at least 90% UK sites on the first page all related to fords.
Still early days, its only been online for a few months so there is still a lot of tweaking going on.

Yes, it's not too bad. Colours are a little bright.
but better than it was. UK Wizz - does that signify something?

Well although the UK market is made up by the major players, i think their is a potential for basically any engine to get a niche market. I especially dont think many niches try hard enough to make a go of it, some do but it seems almost half hearted. With an 80 million population, i think UK WIZZ potentially has some good opportunies ahead.
