I am trying to find what percentage of the UK market Overture and other search engines have. Am I right in thinking that Google has 50% of the UK market?

I currently use Google and Overture but may drop overture in the future hence my question.

Thanks in advance for any advice, statistics etc.

Overture Currently claim to offer access to 87% of all search users.

Google claims between 40-50% of users

Some obviously use more than one Search Engine.

If you are doing PFP with these guys, get tracking, see what terms are productive, and keep both campaigns running to get the best results (if tracking shows this).

Dont just judge PFP on market share... it is just #*$! extension talk and of little relevance to tracked CPC campaigns.

What can we expect in terms of pageviews through paid search of google vs. overture in the UK?

kat_hawk, welcome to WebmasterWorld.

That's not easy to answer as it depends upon so many other factors, such as the industry/business sector.

I guess I was just trying to get an understanding of the overall pageview breakout of Overture UK vs. Google UK. Who has the highest traffic levels in terms of paid search? I have been told by some that Overture gathers more views in the UK and by others that Google does.

This may be information that just isn't available?

P.S. Love this forum.
