PPC Affiliate Sites - Bane or Boon (Organic SEO)

Are these sites 'stealing' your traffic

The real question here is whether the traffic these sites are sending is new traffic that you wouldn't have gotten otherwise or whether your site has lost more traffic to the PPC affiliate sites than they are sending to you.

For me that is an easy one to answer. SEO based sites will have lost out slightly, simply because there is more competition in the SERPs for placement. However, for sites that depend on PPC traffic, they will be getting more traffic that previously would have been going to their SEO competitors.

As I said before, the PPC affiliates are just redistributors. The only real losers, in terms of traffic, are the competing SEOs.

I would also like to point out that some of the "affiliate" based sites do show a good number of non-commercial, non-PPC, organic results as well, although most affiliates admittedly show straight PPC results.

I don't do PPC but I have seen referals via these sites which must be from the inktomi back fill

Seeing as they are optimised for any keyword you can think of maybe I would not of had these extra visitors if these type of sites were not ranking as high as they are

So yes they have helped a little in sending visitors to a information site
