Can anyone advise me if I will face any seo issues if I have three completey different search sites using the same url but with a different suffix e.g:
(These are not my sites - just examples of what I mean)
www.example.co.uk
www.example.com
www.example.net

My concern is google not picking them up as they ahve the same name in the url

Bit of a basic question - any help would be appreciated

Welcome to WebmasterWorld

Google is especially effective at rooting out duplicate content through various methods. However, if they have entirely different content it should not be a problem. If they have the same content, expect only one to be effective. Don't duplicate the content, consider pointing the other domains to one site. Choose the domain suffix which best reflects the audience. eg, for a UK audience, choose the .co.uk

BTW, traditionally, .net has not done so well in the search engines as that suffix is normally for an ISP.

Make the content different and you are generally fine.

However, I agree with Engine that concentrating your efforts (at least initially) on one domain is best. We do have a .net that is now starting to make serious headway independently of its .co.uk equivalent, so we are now looking to capitalize on that but the original use of the .net was for offline advertising and PPC tracking... funny how it drifted to the top anyway after a year or two.
