I have heard a rumour that Google UK are going to paid inclusion.
Anyone else heard this one.

No, No I'm talking about the normal database. This exludes AdWords.
We're talking paid inclusion here.

Why only Google UK? I believe if they went that route they wood probably do for most countries including google.com.

I have a slightly sick feeling in my stomach at the prospect. This would be massive news and I haven't heard a peep. Do you have any details or a source?

Maybe it would help reduce the number of affilliates submitting multiple urls with virtually identical content. This practice is making Google almost unusable for some search terms.
I expect the main reason would be to make money, though :). When Google goes public, it'll probably like making money a lot more than it does now.

Google UK is a great testing ground....
There is talk of MSN using their UK market for the similar type tests in areas it wants feedback on before going .com
They have made the brand.... developed their market...built their customerbase... time to make some cash I think!

Unfortunately I can not give out my source but what I will say is that the information came from with inside one of the PPC companies.
Also has anyone been getting these pop up banners on Google.
If not I must have picked up some cookie I can not get rid of.

I can ask around, but I certainly haven't heard this rumor and would be quite skeptical about this.
We don't show pop-up banners on Google either, so you probably want to do a search for spybot and check for scumware..
