Overture here. Espotting's gone.

What does this mean for the UK market, apart from Espotting?

Espotting has released a press release, but doesn't actually state it has lost the Yahoo! agreement

Espotting's volume base of queries has grown to 1 billion in September 2003, up from a previously quoted figure of 850m per month. The volume base of queries is the number of impressions where Espotting's listings can appear and thus represents the opportunity to reach potential customers. The 1 billion figure excludes the volume of queries that originate from Espotting's Yahoo! Europe deal.

Interesting stuff.

I don't think so. They still have targeted traffic from many smaller sources.

2_Much - What does this mean for the UK market, apart from Espotting?

well it really means that PPC is a lot easier to manage, Overture is the main player now, ( [1]Yes, smiley your right but if I'm managing a Clients budget I would not be Using Espotting, sorry guys it all about numbers.[1/] )

Then of course there :

Google.co.uk, free listing easy to achieve high ranking of UK searches as long has your site is hosted in the UK and your Tld, the has be some evidence that getting a lot of UK based sites pointing to your US based site that is helps, PPC via Adwords (top 2 premier and the skyscaper)

MSN.co.ukFree listing again easy to achieve MSN use some Geo targeting but not much IMO, all Via Inktomi so on page on page and more on page, where G relies heavily on the off page criteria Ink is the opposite.

Yahoo.co.uk well just wait and seen it should match one of the two above at present it's Google and Overture PPC (top 4 results)

but I think today is Overture's they are now controlling UK PPC marketplace

DaveN

and don't forget Ask Jeeves, Freeserve, Yell UK, Altavista UK, etc etc etc...

I notice that they have changed the front page of the Espotting site to remove the logos for the major affiliate sites lol.

I can't see anywhere that mentions the loss of Yahoo on the site. Denial works every time.
