Favicon not updating in Safari?

Anyone know the secret to getting a favicon to update itself on a Mac? Safari, Transmit, etc... none of the apps are showing the new favicon i made for a site 12 hours ago, while several PCs I checked were showing it right after I cleared their cache.

I cleared Safari's history and cache, nothin doin. FF Mac sees the new one once you clear the cache.

This might be overkill but you can resetting Safari should do it. Don't have a Mac in front of me, but I think it's in the File menu.

You don't want to reset Safari, that IS over kill.

Go to your User Root>Library>Safari>Icons

Inside Icons trash everything in there (If you are paranoid move everything to a safe location). I have done this many times to view upated/changed favicons.

From this point on everytime you visit a page the new favicon will appear. You may see new ones at old sites because Safari does not update this.

hah thanks tc... i've always feared that "reset safari" option... sounds so... destructive
