Colocating an Xserve

What should I pay and what should I expect?

I've been paying $250 a month to colacate our Xserve for almost a year. This month, the host tacked on a $20 surcharge for electricity and hit me for $160 for using extra bandwidth. So, I'm paying $430 for a month where we used about 200 gigs of bandwidth (anything above 40 is $1 a gig).

This seems like a lot and got me wondering if I'm being ripped off. Apparently, they failed to charge me for extra bandwidth until now and just noticed the error - I'm not sure if I should count my blessings or fear the incompetence.

It's not "managed" hosting, but they do stuff like set up my stats, organize domains and run backups. Tech support is good and they have a good system for email. I've been with them since 1999, but lately they've been showing signs of wear - lots of turnover and some unanswered emails.

I'd really like to avoid moving the box, especially since it's 3,000 miles away. I'm also over my head when it comes to setting up a server and doing much more than uploading files. Any thoughts on what to look for in a host and what kind of pricing is reasonable are appreciated.
