what do those of you using Macs use (if anything) to check Google Page Rank?

I use firefox and the googlebar with PR extension. Works fine for me. Im not sure if I'm allowed to post the url to the download site, but make sure you have firefox installed, then do a search for prgooglebar. Install on-site and restart your browser.
It should work for mozilla as well.

This requires a widget application called "Konfabulator" Google it. Then Google "PageRank for Mac" (check your sticky) and download the pagerank widget. Pretty slick.
The FireFox is slower and clunky IMHO
Enjoy!

I use a Mozilla extension called "SearchStatus" - works like a charm.

On those rare occasions I want to see it, I fire up Virtual PC and use the ... Google Toolbar. ;)

There is some web applications that show PageRank for the URL you enter. Easy enough to find with a Google search.

I found the web-based one that I used to use, apparently it is back in business.
I'd post the URL, but I can't.
it brings up a PR number instead of a colored bar.
the SearchStatus thingie works OK, but its still kind of vague.

You might also look at Konfabulator. Someone made a PR widget, works great with Safari. I have been using it for about a nine months to a year now and love it. Go to Konfabulator, install it if you don't already have it, and search for Google PageRank.
Lots of other goodies there too. The widgets are freeware, Konfabulator is about $25 shareware with a nice long trial period.

I've tried using he Konfabulator and the PageRank Widget mentioned above, but get a warning message I can not read and a little no go sign over a photo. The downloads have only been done today so they're up to date. Any suggestions as to how to get this to work? thanks?

Are you trying it in Safari? PR Widget only works with Safari... If you are still having issues I would suggest a clean re-install. I have it installed on 4 of our Macs here and work fine.

Thanks. I was being blonde and was trying to run the widget from outside the widget directory konfabulator uses so it could not link it up properly. dohh...
