how can get php to view on mac os 9 computer. i have php files but all the words in the file come up on the browser not hidden. In my book it says to download something to view it, bu it's only for os x. where can i download it for os 9?

AFAIK you can't. OSX comes not just with PHP but also with Apache and MySQL installed. It's a web server as well as a desktop computer. To get PHP running in OS9 you'd have to first install Apache...

I spent some time trying to install PHP onto an OS 9 machine, though not a lot of time.

I can safely say there is no *easy* way to do it. Certainly nothing like the ease of installing onto an OS X machine.

You'll need a Classic Mac port of Apache, unfortunately you may need to write that yourself. If your time is money, then it'd be cheapest to buy a new iMac.

Yes, what Russ said, plus if you want a SQL database for PHP to play with, you will probably need to go OS X.
