Saving pages as EPS files in quark

I'm running version 10.2 on my mac, but still only using version 4.1 of quark- i know its really old, but work wont buy any new versions yet! When i try to download fonts into an eps file i get a rogue font in the file, some reason a Truetype Helvetica appears, but is not in the usage window? So when i try and send these eps files, they fail to validate saying that Helvetica could not be found!? I've been through the quark doc trying to find txt boxes, but i cant seem to work this one out....any one got any suggestions that could help me?

Help on this would make my job a lot easier :o)

A trick I like to use a lot is to save from quark as an eps, then open in Illustrator and resave as either an eps or a pdf. I never send out native quark eps because they never raster right. You'll also see problems with bitmapped images with a background color given to them in Q. You might also check that you don't have two helvetica fonts and you might try getting a new set of helvetica, not the one that comes with your machine. A suite with a bunch of PS fonts and their screens.

Before you save that Illustrator .eps file, you need to select all and convert to outlines. Converting to .eps from Quark 4 or 5 does not turn the fonts into outlines hence the extra step of opening it in Illustrator and going through the routine of selecting all and converting to outlines.

Cheers for that last bit, i'll see if the problem goes away once the file has been saved as outlines.
