Macintosh User Groups are groups of people who meet in a set location for a specific area. In vegas its known as VMUG, Vegas Macintosh User Group. Each area has their own. I went to these events when I first started using a Mac to see demonstrations of new applications before they were on the market. The group of people were older as I was very young. I stopped going after a period of time because I got bored :)

I met a few Mac Web Developers at these events, swapped links and got their e-mails to keep contact. Do any of the Mac people here goto, or have been to a local MUG meeting?

Apple has a list of Macintosh User Groups [apple.com] I don't think they are all listed there though.

We do have one in my area, but even with as much time as I spend in front of a computer I can't imagine wanting to spend my free time hanging out with a bunch of people just because they use the same computer platform as me.

Am I not a proper Apple geek? Is my Apple keychain, brass enameled pins & decals, and collection of "antique" Apple hardware not enough? Do I need to join a club, and start wearing logos on my clothing? ;)
