I've been looking fo some decent (free) mac fonts but can't seem to find a decent source for them ... can anyone recommend a few sites?

If you're running OS X then you can just as easily use Windows Truetype fonts (.ttf) as well as mac fonts.
So, if you're running OS X you can go to those 1 million free pc font sites and download until your HD is full. ;)

Wow, is that true, BillPosters? I had no idea. Thanks.

domokun, there's a site called DaFont (do a search for the URL or your first guess will probably be correct) that offers free fonts, some of which are for Mac. And they're pretty good, if a bit unusual.

Another handy site that's been around forever (but always get's overlooked) is Luc Devroye's On Snot and Fonts directory.

http://jeff.cs.mcgill.ca/~luc/fonts.html

There you'll see categorised sets of links including link lists for freeware and shareware fonts.
The links are no longer maintained (checked for life) so often, but you're sure to find many worthwhile sites still active with a little clicking around.

Still worth bookmarking.
