Safari & Transparent Flash

I've done a site for a client who requested a different Flash animation at the top of each page of his site at the 11th hour. Because everything else was already built and rather complicated I tried using a transparent background for the animations.

It works great everywhere but Safari. I don't have Safari but he's telling me the transparency is not working. Normally it would be so small of an audience it wouldn't matter much, but he's in the music business and a disproportionate number of his associates and clients run Macs with Safari.

He says he's downloaded the latest flash plug-in and still no luck. Animated gif's would be waaaay too big.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get Safari to display transparent Flash backgrounds?
