opening .cfm files in bbedit

Hi, I am only used to building .html pages and I have to edit an existing home page that is a .cfm file. Am I safe to do this in bbedit? I have to change the title and description. Any help appreciated.

Yes it's safe. As long as you don't adjust code other than the title and description it will be fine.

Common sense to make a backup first though.
