Is there an easy, cheap or free program for saving .ico files?

Hi Andrew Scott,

Welcome aboard!

Graphic Converter will let you do that. It is some impressive piece of shareware.

Iconographer will also do it... but it has a very icon-specific editing interface, which may or may not be an advantage to you.

Thanks,

I shall checkout both programs straight away.

Graphic Converter is well worth having, even if you decide Iconographer is better suited for your current project. :)

If you've ever encountered an image file in a format your regular software won't "speak to," chances are GC could open it... I've only ever found one file format it wouldn't open, and that was some strange Microsoft invention.

I can't tell about Iconographer. Never tried it before. Probably better suited for its purpose.

As mivox mentionned, GC will let you do a lot more. I still prefer it to photoshop for batch conversions.

You know, I've had GC kicking around for years, and I've used it now and again for one-off conversions but I have never thought of using it for batch conversions... interesting idea, thanks.
