ftp server problems in OS-X 10.2

Well I have found out the hard way that the default FTP server settings are ******-up in Jaguar. Can't set up chroot (not thrilled about people cruising the directory structure) and file uploads result in file permissions changed so no one except the owner can view them. Plus, there is no ftp.config file to be found.

Most of the folks I'm dealing with have trouble changing file permissions , even when walked through it.

As a temp. fix I'm running CrushFTP.

Anyone resolved this problem yet?

Not a Mac user? Well, that's OK. I 'm not prejudiced, just happy with my chosen platform(usually).

Thanks anyway, and I hope you get over that nasty cough soon.....
