How do i get mcrypt (PHP 4.2.1) up and working on a Mac OSX 10.1 machine running WebSTAR 4.2?

It is a very special question. I could not find any answers using major search engines and internal search engines of related sites.

I will try to find some help from the Apache wiz we have here. Maybe the console is using similar command lines.
