Dear all,

I want to update my website files. Can I do (a) site optimisation for search engines (including HTML) and (b)change text (not HTML) if I don't have installed on my computer the Dreamweaver software that I used to design my website?
thanks

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Sure you can, just open the files in a text editor and edit them ;)

You should also be able to open up the files with another wysiwyg editor (e.g., FrontPage) and edit using that, if you prefer. It might be a little tricky, but I've transitioned back and forth between the two and it's a little messy, but do-able.

Make sure you spellcheck the content for typos and then run all of the pages through [validator.w3.org...] to catch any HTML typos in the code.
