i recently took some basic steps to optimize a few sites for search engine results. as a result, the pages show up in the top-ten with google, but only when i type the name of the company. when i type in more generic kewords i get millions of results. is there a way to find out where a site is located in a search without looking through the results manually?

also, how does one figure out what the PageRank off a site is?

thank you,

Not sure how to find your site in a search result without manually scanning the pages, but PageRank is easy. If you are listed in the ODP (dmoz.org) you can go to directory.google.com, find your category, and then look at the green bar next to the site listing.

Otherwise, you can download the toolbar for IE:

Then you'll see the PR for every site you visit, even your competitors.
