I've seen a nice page where where the rollover starts when the page loads. Multiple images fade in and out in a slide show effect. I'd lke to create this effect ewith three images. I'm using DreamWeaverMX. Gee forget the slide show, how a about a simple mouseover two image fade out fade in?

Are you sure that this was not done with Flash? Go back to the site and right click on the fading image. See if at the bottom of the contextual menu it says about macromedia flash player.

If you can keep the file size low you could crete rollovers using 2 animated gifs.

Maybe three frames or so for each effect: mouse over and mouse out. I did this a while ago for a glow effect round an image - looked pretty hot - even if I do say so myself.

If you have access to flash it might be a better option as the compression produces lower file sizes than even a well optimised animated GIF.

Use animated gifs and CSS, you can avoid all javascript and get an impressive effect.

Thanks for your suggestions. I just started to tackle animations. I have Flash MX but have never used it. I'm mostly self taught save for the help I recieve here. If I could just figure out this one project I would be so happy.
