How do multiple editors work on a single site in Dreamweaver without over writting each other's files and without using Contribute?

use the check in and check out feature, so you get a warning before up/downloading any pages that someone else is working on.

How does that work with templates? Will all files be auto checked-out when applying the template statewide?

not sure - but i doubt it.
i think the best you could hope for with templates is a warning if you try to upload something checked out by someone else.
would be happy to hear if there is a way round this.
