I need to setup a new domain on a seperate server. Let's just call the existing domain name www.widgets.com.

How do I setup support.widgets.com?

Can it be housed on a different server? Perhaps be meta refreshed from www.widgets.com/support?

Any help is appreciated.

Ducati,

This tutorial on DNS [rscott.org] may be useful to you.

Do not use meta-refresh if you can avoid it. Use a 301-Moved Permanently redirect.

The quantity and quality of replies on WebmasterWorld correlate with the quality of the "title" and "description" you use for your thread.

Ducati,

This sort of question is typically handled in webhosts' FAQs. Many hosts allow you to set up subdomains through their user control panels.

Ducati, in the future you will get a better response if you have an informative subject heading.

Better subject lines would be

Domain setup
want support.domain.com

Cheers and welcome to WebmasterWorld
