I am managing a web site for the first time, and it is kind of different than most. I don't have complete control of the site as it is owned by a larger company that sells domains within their site. If that makes sense. They actually control the meta tags, etc., but I control most of the content. It is an informational web site for my community, and I am trying to figure out the best way to get our site higher on the search engines. I do have us listed on most of them, but we are way down unless you type in more than one keyword. I am provided with a link to look at my logs, but other than hits and visits I don't know what I am looking at. For example, one of the tables is for "Top 20 of 34 Total Search Strings". Is this what people are actually searching for that is finding our site?

I would bet the mortgage that "Top 20 of 34 Total Search Strings" is in fact the most commonly used search terms used to find your site.

It sounds like you're seeing 20 of 34 total phrases for the day? that folks used to find your site via search engines.
