Is using JavaScript for a pop up window the only time you can specify whether certain browser menus are revealed up top? I'd like to make everything disappear except for the File ¦ Edit ¦ View ¦ etc... menu to be gone when users visit the site.

Good question. JS is the only way I've found to do it, and I've looked long & hard.
