Hi all,

Ive been using .png files for my graphics on my website. i use this format because its better looking than .gif and small in file size than .jpg. Ive heard from somewhere that not all browsers like .png format. although, ive tested on both IE and NS with no problems. can anyone clear this up for me so that i know for sure?

Much appreciated.

As long as you are not after transparency (which is a real shame, I tried it out a while back- beautiful). Recent post on the subject [webmasterworld.com...]
a site search will probably bring up some more.

Oh, and welcome to Webmasterworld.

Hi Paulperoni - Welcome to Webmaster World!

There have been a couple of threads on PNG's to date, here are the links that I could dig up:

Png [webmasterworld.com]

PNG's - Lets Take a Look
[webmasterworld.com]

PNG format graphics [webmasterworld.com]

IE6 - Alpha channel png's? [webmasterworld.com]

Hope these links help - I know that there was a discussion on browser support on a couple of them and a definitive list in the last link!
