I am redoing a website in Dreamweaver mx, I want the website to fill both resolutions of 800 by 600 and 1024 by 768 pixels completely - automatically resize with no surrounding background.

I have created a banner for the page(s)presently in photoshop, which I have not sliced up yet. There is not much room to create a spacer gif (like the one dreamweaver can automatically create).

My question is how big or small can the spacer gif be? my spacer gif is likely to be 10 pixels wide by 180 pixels high. So would this work? and would it work if the pixel was 1 by 1?

Hi, Stephen. I'm not sure I follow the question, but you can make your spacer any size you need. Just define its width and height attributes to fit the space you need. I.e., if you need a 10 pixel x 30 pixel filler, just define it to be that size. If I misinterpreted the question, sorry...

I usually just have a 1x1 transparent gif kicking around on my hard drive. I just resize it when needed on the fly. No one ever knows >)

... cept w3's validator, if you dont give it an alt tag, that is. :)
