Hi, the stats on my server are showing a high number of
errors, page requests, for /instmsg/aliases/sales

Any idea of what this is and how to fix it?

Thanks

customdy,

Please provide a little more info...

Do you have such a page on your site? Or did you used to have such a page?

Hi Jim, thanks for the reply.. I do not have a page by this name and never have... strange that something is requesting this page then has never existed..

Our e-mail address is sales@xxxxx.com so it was thinking
that maybe is was sometype of instant message trying to be sent to our e-mail id?

Thanks

I'm not sure what it is - It could be a troublemaker, or just some broken user-agent.

I'd trying banning it by IP or user-agent - Give it a 403-Forbidden response. Maybe it will go away if it thinks it's been detected... Some do, some don't.

You could also chase down the IP address and report them to their hosting service or ISP.

I've gotten several requests from obviously-broken user-agents recently. Probably just the script-kiddies debugging their programs 'live' instead of testing them properly...
