I've seen a lot of talk about PR ratings on google. How can I find out the PR for my website?

Welcome to the board bookwolfman,

If you have a windows box with IE you can install the toolbar. [toolbar.google.com...]

The only other way is to get a directory listing in DMOZ and look at the listing in the google directory.

Thanks korkus2000!

My site is already listed in DMOZ, so i searched Google Directories and it shows my PR as a bar a little over the halfway point. What does that relate to in PR numbers? Am I looking at the right page?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, if the green reaches to slightly to the right of center on the toolbar, it's PR5.

It can be a high 5 or a low 5, just like $5.25 and $5.75 are both more than $5.00 and less than $6.00, but not equal in value. It's related in concept.

I thin he was refering to the directory toolbar - in which case - you are probably looking at a pr 5 or 6 in the regular toolbar.

To get an "exact" figure from the toolbar, hover your mouse over the little PageRank meter itself, and eventually a message will pop up (not unlike an ALT text message on an image) that says something like:

PageRank is Google's Measure of the Importance of This Page (PR/10)

Where PR is your PageRank.

Note however that this is actually only an estimate of your pages' actual pageranks. Considering this is as close as you're going to get to an accurate figure, you (and everyone else) might as well consider it truth.
