Domain redirect method question

I have situation where a multi-divisional company has domains for each of it's divisions. They are closing one of the divisions and hence that division's website.

I have been asked to direct all traffic from this closed divisional site to the parent company site.

As I see it I can:

a)Post an index page with a link "click here for parent company".

b)Post an index page with: onLoad="MM_goToURL('parent','http://www.parent-company.com')

c)401 permanent redirect

Which is best from Google's perspective? Are there other considerations?
