How Does Bots Read A SSI

Is the SSI consider part of your web page?

Hi,
I started building a new web site. My old site only used static pages. My new site will have SSI files. When a robot visits your site, does it read the SSI and it's content as being part of the web page or does it only read the content that's actually a part of the html file. I want to make sure the SSI info is included with the page but I don't want the robot to have access to the directory where my SSI's are located.

SSI is included before it is sent from the server. The bots don't know you are using SSI except maybe an extension. They see regular HTML.
