do u think that buying a turnkey site can ever be a good idea , do u think it is worth it?

Doubt it unless you can gurantee that its an original site and and wont suffer duplicate content problems.

You see a lot of these of fleabay for sale and I feel really sorry for the poor devils that buy them, for sometimes fairly large sums.

I agree with Essex_boy on this one....

They very often market these sites as if you simply buy it and sit back and watch the cash come rolling in. It never works like that. If it was so easy then why do they make their money selling these sites as opposed to just keeping it all for themselves.

On the web you need to market and promote in order to get traffic. You then need to work on converting your users to customers. There is no way this can be done without putting in a lt of hard work.
