How to know it before about search engines and their new products

Hi All,

How to know about the advancements or the new products or the algorithmic changes even before the search engines announce them. I mean I have read about a lot of articles and forums written by many SEOs talking about this. I am a keen follower of the search engines and I regularly try and experiment on these new products they launch but is it true that sometimes seos can know these things before.

I think the most you can realistically do is follow forums and newsgroups and try to pick up little pieces of information along the way.

Search engines are usually pretty tight lipped when it comes no new features so generally we don't really hear about them until they have been launched.
