I have done my best to get IBL from related sites, some are related directories and a few really good ones.
When I check the links, Yahoo is 64, MSN 13 but Google still none, even though Googlebot paid a second visit very recently. I did add some link URL's yesterday as someone recommended in the Google Search news forum.
I've been following lots of threads here trying to learn as much as possible and have read a few times that osCommerce is not considered very SE friendly. Which is a pity as that's the kind of site we have.
I have asked the guy who built the site should we add a Google sitemap and he thinks they're not very compatible with os. But I've also read here that they have problems all their own anyway.
Do you think our problem is with osCommerce or possibly with the current problems at Google? And do you think a Google sitemap would improve things?
From things I have read here and my limited knowledge of how to check these things I think the site is well built and that the recommendations normally given here have been fulfilled, (I can't be 100% sure though as I don't always fully understand).
Many thanks in advance for any views, Caran.
It's not easy is it. To be honest your site is still new, as a result it may be to new to rank well for keywords/terms.
If I where you I would work on getting as many IBL's as possible and continue adding content and developing your site.
The rankings should come.
Mack.
