To be honest one the search engines will be able to answer this for sure, but lets fire some ideas about... :)

Using duplicate content: I believe this will result in search engine problems because if the content is already ranking on another site then it will be flagged as duplicate content on your domain and as a result will almost certainly not rank.

Keyword cramming: This doesn't relate to your keyword meta tag. Keyword cramming is where you just cram your page full of keywords. This means you get a great keyword density, but a page that ready terrible to a human.

Hidden text: Hidden text is an old timer but is still seen quite a lot on the web today. Hidden text is used to increase your keyword density by hiding words from the user, but presenting them to the search engine. This is very much frowned upon by search engines. This technique is achieved by using the same colour for your text as you use for your background. (not recommended)

Using FFA pages as promotion: FFA pages are Free for all link pages. In general a FFA page will take on the appearance of a web directory and it will let you add your link for free. The catch is you need to return the link to the ffa page. The problem here is the only site that really benefits is the FFA site it's self. If Google or any other se becomes aware if it they tend to penalise the entire network.

Any more... :)

The search engines each have guidelines posted -- if you go against them, you run the risk of being banned.

Google Quality Guidelines [google.com]
Yahoo Quality Guidelines [help.yahoo.com]
MSN Search Guidelines [search.msn.com.my]

The more coding a person learns, the more "creative" they can become in their attempts to manipulate search engines. For example, there are all kinds of "sneaky redirects" that can get you in trouble if they are discovered. And even the appearance of some of these techniques, even if they are not intended to deceive, can sometimes cause a ban or penalty.

The rule to follow is that the content that a spider gets should be the content a user will see if they click on a particular search result.

hi, thank you for your advice. I newly made a website for myself and my friend told me if I didn't submit my website to google, however succeessful my SEO was, the site couldn't be spidered. Is that right?

Submitting your site to Google is not important at all. I haven't used the Google add url form for years.

If you have links pointing to your site then Google will find your site by following these links.
