Where do I start to Learn Optmisation

Hi,

I've been using another company for optimisation for many years, and wanted to learn myself, does anybody have any good sites i can go on to download a step by step manual for optimisation or do i need to take a course to learn the basics of how to do it?

If anyone has any pointers for me, i would be forever greatful...
