Hi
I have a situation where instead of the home page of a site being displayed, an abusive message is instead! Tne ip adress shows correctly. I have contacted the hoster suggesting this is a security problem, but have no pesponse. I am lost here can any one offer advice or even explain what is being done?

It could be any number of things, but most likely that a hacker has discovered your password. Why not upload the home page from the computer to the server (overwriting the hacked version), change your password, and see if the hacker comes back or not?

Also, if you don't hear back from your host soon, change hosting companies. Truthfully, it's probably not your host's problem if someone hacked your site (just like it's not your realtor's fault if someone breaks into your house), but still, if it's hard to get timely support from your host in general, then that could be a reason to switch hosts.

Thanks for the advice. I in fact deleted the index page but still got the abuse page. Anyway I am inclined to changehoster as I am not happy with the service.
