Hey guys:)

Quick question i hope you can answer.

What is the *least* amount of days that can be placed in the Meta data information?

I have mine set for 7 days but would like to change it to 1 day. Is one day acceptable in the information?

I have this:

<meta name="revist-after" content="7 days" />

Well...thanks for the help guys:)

That tag is very depreciated and search engines tend not to pay any attention to that specific tag.

Search engines tend to base their re-visit schedule on your sites actual update pattern. If a search engine notices that your pages are updated regularly then it will visit often. On the other hand of the se sees little or no changes over an extended time span then the frequency of visits will be reduced.

adding in another angle, when a meta tag is useless, or all but useless, it becomes mere bloated code. Removing it altogether reduces page size, and that equates to slightly faster load times, good for the end user, and slightly less bandwidth, good for you. One snippet of code on one page makes little difference, but if you can dump the code from scores of pages or more, then good on ya.

Revisit-After META Tag
The myth continues in 2004...
[webmasterworld.com...]

The revisit-after META tag is not supported by any major search engines, it never was supported and probably never will be. It was developed for, and supported by, Vancouver Webpages and their local search engine searchBC.

frenzy77, may I ask where you originally found that tag? Did you find that on an SEO site somewhere (no specifics please). And what exactly was the advice of that site? Did it go something like this...

The Revisit META tag defines how often a search engine or spider should come to your website for re-indexing. Often this tag is used for websites that change their content often and on a regular basis. This tag can also be beneficial in boosting your rankings if search engines display results based on the most recent submissions.

Hey pageoneresults:)

Sorry about taking so long to answer your question
about the meta revisit tag. You asked where i found
the tag and explanation of how they said to use it.

Well, i have no idea where i found the tag. It was back in 2005 that i found the tag. Sorry about that.
I do think it went something like the explanation you posted here.

Sorry again about taking so long to post. Been a little busy:)
