What it means by "request timed out"?

What it can do by instruction "ping"?Can I detect the faults in the web(path,gatway etc.)?

I ping www.mydomain.com and get "request timed out".What that means?Please.

all that shows you is that the "internet" cannot find the server that houses your domain.

It could mean that your site is down, the server is down, the DNS servers are down, or even that the server itself is refusing pings.

Usually we use the Ping for a simple check to see if a website is up OR TO See if a computer is connected to the internet.
