Changing pictures

I want the pictures on my page to change by themselves while the visitor looks at my page. How can I do this?

Depends how you want todo this?

Do you want them to cycle in a random pattern?
Do you want them to cycle by date?

how often or when do you want them to change?
eg, on mouse over or every so many seconds.

how many images and there locations.

if is just one image, then might be better of with animated .gif

if not, then a simple javascript loop that changes the pics are required.

If u leave more info, when here next will try and give example in javascript.

Thanks for responding. I would like them to just cycle in any order, it doesn't have to be random. The images are in the same folder as the index & other pages of the web and could change by themselves every 5 - 10 seconds. There would be 2-8 images to be cycled.
