I have already created some blogs on the theme of children's characters and I am wondering if it would be a good idea now to create one website that has a page for each character (not sure how many characters yet) with adsense on those pages and links on the right hand side to blogs or websites selling affiliate products.
And/or
Have one website for each character promoting the different products for that character.
The thing is I want to still be able to include as many links to my websites in the signatures.

What you can do is have various different subtopics within the site. Then try to get some inbound links to these topic areas. The advantage being you will have quite a lot of "link love" to pass back to your homepage, You can try to optimise your sites homepage to target characters, as opposed to a specific character.

With regard to my children's character website theme. My aim is to create one website to promote all the products. However, it can take time to create a website, therefore in the meantime would like to know if there is a way to get my blogs to come up in the search engines for certain keyword searches?
I know you can do this with websites by choosing the best keywords. However, I would like to know if I can achieve the same thing with my blogs as well.
In that respect, should I continue to have one blog for each character theme with links to each other or should I have one blog that promotes all of the characters?
