I was following directions to install Internet Information Services. I found that my Windows XP (2002) Windows Component Wizard does not offer an option called Internet Information Services. Am I missing something?

I think IIS is only available on XP Pro, not Home. Which version of XP are you using?

I have home. So you are probably correct.
Thanks

Yep it is only available in pro.

You can still install other web servers but not IIS unfortunitly.

Was it just for testing websites, or where you wanting to run some windows specific code?

You may be able to install "personal web server" that was bundled with windows 98/98SE/ME, not sure if there is a standalone edition that may be able to run on XP home.

Google "IIS ON XP" for some options. Your best bet is probably to upgrade to XP Pro.

I assume this is for development only?

Yes development only. It is quite quick to upload to the host server which is the
ultimate test for me.
