I've tried using an organiser and listing down "things to do" for the day. But in all honesty, I am barely able to follow my plans. Some days I jump from one project to another, and on other days I get stuck doing research. I've missed more self-imposed deadlines than I can count. This and the combined pressure of a steep learning curve in web design makes it seem at times impossible to cope.
Many of you veterians have said that "content is king," and to try to add at least one bit of new article a day to your site. Its easy to add an article for my personal blog, but on my information website it might take me 1-2 days, or even a week to finish my article. Its not that I have a problem writing or lack ideas, its just that I'm meticulous with my research. I try to go for quality not quantity.
Still I do think that I should learn to better manage my time. Thanks in advance, any help would be greatly welcomed.
sincerely, Toby
If the project is mission critical I will work as long as i need to to get it done. Even if it means working into the wee hours of the night.
Since this is my job, and my income, and my family's future, I have incentive NOT to miss deadlines, self-imposed or otherwise.
If you have trouble motivating yourself to work, go out and buy a brand new Lexus with nothing down. When that first car payment is due, you'll find the energy and incentive to get off your a** and do what is required.
