Hi,

Please excuse what may appear a pretty dumb question...

Some background (or excuses)
............................

My site is about 9 months old.....and no kidding , I didnt even know what HTML meant back then (and probably still dont)....technically my site is crap...but customers love it, and keep saying so......it generates loads of sales...so why make it technically good.....(digressing).

My question is , becuae of my lack of skill and knowledge in website building, I have hotch potched it. All my pages are individual pages, so if I have to change anything its a lot of work...but I have recently realised that I HAVE A POTENTIAL PROBLEM , and dont know what to do about it.

SOME OF MY PAGES END WITH HTM and others with HTML....there are about 5 or 6 such pages on my site...THE PROBLEM IS THEY ARE DUPLICATED IN CONTENT...(dont know how this happened because it wasnt intentional)....So if I go from one page to another , depending where I come from will decide which page I land on(as in htm or html)....EVEN WORSE....These pages have PR of 4......I Dont particularly want to delete PR 4 pages....

Any suggestions - what can or should I do?

Thanks in advance for helping a dummy (lol)

If you only have a small percentage of duplicate content pages (say 0.1 %), you shouldn't have a problem. If it is possible with your web site, you could try a 301 redirect from a duplicate page to the "original" page and the link popularity should move to the other page. Search the net using a search engine for more information about HTTP 301 redirect.
