As we sent out mailing, I noticed that it was sent with all the mail addreses in BCC field. Currently we have 1000 users, but we aim at atleast 20.000+
1. How does this affect spamblocking on mail servers?
2. Would be better if the script would create a single mail for each of recipent?
3. Would be better if script would send only 25 mails at once?
Any good articles on this subject?
Thnx
All I can say to help you is....
Good Luck
Mass Email as a marketing tool is becoming useless, in my opinion.
Spam blockers are blocking more and more real mail, and anything that looks like a list might be stopped. Then, if someone reports you to a SpamHaus, you're hosed anyway.
I wasn't clear enough. My email list is a member list - it will be used to inform members about updates, news etc on the site.
I instruct new members to put our email address to safe sender list or similiar, but I am afraid that my mails (or part of them) would be blocked on the server level.
Sending 25 mails at once? Hmmm not sure if this is so important, especially when they will all be going to different ISP's and there for being handled by different servers and different anti spam systems.
This may be more relevant with the bigger mail providers should you start sending larger ammounts of data but for 1000 to 20000 I dont think this would be so important.
One thing I would say is that you should really be aiming for double optin, this is what they all want to see these days.
