I am getting involved into website design and wonder about what’s out there in the market. I took a quick look into Studio 8 from Macromedia but I am not sure if I really need that. My goal is to be able to create nice looking website fairly quickly with tool that doesn’t require deep knowledge of programming language. I’ve used FrontPage but I need more in a sense of design as I found html too “square” in graphics for example. At the same time I am keen to learn more about SEO and tracking so that is something to keep in mind with selecting the tool. Through the time it would be nice to be able to post new content in kind of automated or semi-automated way. Maintenance of a website with 100+ pages is not possible with editing each page separately. Sorry, it is possible but a big pain. My main goal is creation of websites for affiliate marketing and later to get into AdSense as well.
As of now I am using Linux based hosting plan.
I appreciate your input.
Thanks
I use Dreamweaver to design my pages and Fireworks to design my graphics. I create the graphics, backgrounds, and buttons in FW, paste them into DW.
If you can teach yourself things, I very highly recommend the training manuals at [nobledesktop.com...] I took their Fireworks class, but it was really the manual that taught me everything, and I learned DW advanced with their manual.
Good luck. It's a great career, especially for a work at home mom.
