Page widths and screen resolution

which is the best size to set the page width

Hi
My site has been built with a set page width of approx 750 wide for screen res of 800 x 600.
I have recently noticed when using screen res 1024 x 768 the site appears small and off to the left with large spaces down the right.
I would like to change its appearence to be viewed correctly but can't find an easy way to change all the pages. I have also checked my site stats and 90% of users are using 1024 x 768. Should I re-design the whole site to suit and what width would be suitable?

Just use tables for alignment of your site contents.

Tip: Use % in width to adjust accordingly for different screen resolutions.

Is this 96% or 960 width? If it is 96% does this alter the other tables within the page?

The width specified 98% means that perticular table will be having that much width no matter what the screen resolution maybe.

The total width of the screen is taken as 100% so its 98% and not 980 pixels.

This will effect only that tables which have been specified with % width attribute.
