hello

i have a problem

i have previously been accessing my site via the http:// address without www.

today I woke up to find I am getting this message:

This domain name may still be available for registration!

You have arrived at this page because the domain name you entered is not currently active on the Internet. If you have recently registered or modified this domain name, you can expect it to become active within the next 24 hours.

but if i use the www. form of the address, my browser can find my site.

i have emailed the tech support people for my domain registration to see if it is a problem with nameserver settings - my hosting is done by a different company

any suggestions?

thanks in advance

Your ISP/host doesn't have the DNS set up properly. Forget e-mail. Get on the phone now and don't stop calling them until the problem gets fixed.

thanks for replying httpwebwitch

yeah, it seems that way, but i think it's sorted out now... the isp thinks they've fixed the problem, and both the root domain and the www. address work again

thanks for your response

You should have left things as they were.

If the site can now be accessed in two different ways then you will have big problems with your listings in Google.

Make sure that you have a 301 redirect from non-www to www for all pages of the site.
