Hello

I'd like to get an idea of licensing cost comparisons between different hosting technologies, ie

PHP with MYSQL or SQLServer
JSP/Servlets (using Tomcat or JBoss) with MYSQL or SQLServer
ASP.NET with MYSQL or SQLServer

I'm currently trying to start up my web site on a hosted server using JSP2/Servlets and MYSQL and Tomcat. While I don't have to worry specifically about licensing costs on that server I still don't know what the licensing costs would be if I set up a JSP2/Servlet web site on somebody else's private server using Tomcat with MYSQL.

I'm in Melbourne Australia so I'd have to get an idea of Australian pricing

Thanks

generally speaking, you can find PHP the cheapest, followed by JSP, followed by ASP.NET.

Windows servers generally cost more. PhP is easy to operate. JSP requires some people with good tech skills.
